Privatising Anti-Corruption

“I think it is a good thing that the Coca-Cola will sign the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Anti-Corruption Unit to clear corruption in Cambodia... I hope other companies will now sign an MoU like the Coca-Cola company.”

Lim Lina, public affairs manager for the Cambodian Beverage Company, Coca-Cola’s brand in Cambodia, 27 November 2013

Is this another creative idea to clear the corruption in Cambodia, or just a naive notion that comes out of desperation, or a cleaver attempt to be seen as doing something to the unsavoury core modus operandi of the regime?

But what is there to understand?
